View the case ShellAn A/B test with Connectify, our solution for server-side tagging. On Jeroen.nl we measured in the browser and on the server, in the same period: on the server over 40 percent more traffic.
Measuring in the browser misses more and more. Browsers block tracking codes, ad blockers stop requests and privacy settings limit what gets through. We wanted to show how much exactly.
To do that, we ran a test case on Jeroen.nl, a site about using energy more consciously. Nothing changed on the site itself: we only added measuring through Connectify, next to the existing measurement.
Measuring through the Connectify server, the solution we developed together with B2Design.
A separate Google Analytics property, so measuring in the browser and on the server could be compared in exactly the same period.
Campaigns, budgets and channels stayed the same. The difference is in the measurement only.
From the server, the data goes to Google Analytics. Less gets lost, and you decide what goes through.

This is how a visit ends up in the reports through Connectify.
A visitor reads an article or uses a comparison tool.
The measurement goes to the Connectify server first, not straight to Google.
On the server, the data is checked and prepared for each platform.
Google Analytics gets a more complete picture, with less traffic of unknown origin.
